Getting started

How do we sign up?

Send us a request through the Get started form. There's no self sign-up: we check every request, meet with someone from your club, and then set up your club's account ourselves.

We'll be in touch within 2 business days to book a time.

Request access for your club

How long does setup take?

Once your club is created, the setup wizard walks your Club Admin through teams, players and coaches. Most of the work is entering your player list and inviting your coaches, and you can import players in bulk.

Your first match stats then fill in the Match Centre, player tables and leaders.

Read the setup guide

Which leagues is Quarterline for?

Community Australian rules football clubs, starting with local leagues such as the Adelaide Footy League (ADFL). If your league isn't listed on the request form, choose Other and tell us about it.

Who built it?

Quarterline was built by local footy clubs, players and volunteers who needed help managing the week: stats, feedback, selection, injuries and club messages. The aim is simple: more time coaching, less time doing admin.

Do we need any special equipment?

No. Quarterline runs in a web browser on phones, tablets and computers. Players and coaches can install it on their phone's home screen like an app.

Match stats

Where do the match stats come from?

From your club's statistics provider. We work with the providers community leagues already use: after each match your club receives a stats report with the score, team stats and each player's statistics.

Add that report to Quarterline and the data goes straight into the app: the match, the quarter scores, the team stats and every player's line, then the Match Centre, player tables, leaders and trends. It takes about a minute.

Using match stats without an analyst

Who owns the stats data?

Your statistics provider owns the data and licenses it to your club. Every upload asks a coach to confirm the club is licensed to use that data in Quarterline for its own coaching. Your club is responsible for its agreement with its provider.

Stats you upload, including your opponents' stats, are only visible inside your club.

What if our stats come from a different provider?

Tell us who provides your stats when you send a request and we'll work with you to bring them in. Everything else (feedback, selection, injuries, training, communication and Best & Fairest) works without stats at all.

What are the benchmark tiers and the Performance Index?

Each stat is shown against a benchmark as Elite, Above, Average or Below, so you can see at a glance where a player sits. The Performance Index weighs a player's stats by their position, so a key defender isn't judged on the same mix as a forward. Fantasy points are also calculated.

Privacy and who sees what

Who can see our club's information?

Only people in your club, and only what their role allows. Each club's data is private to that club and separated in the database itself, so one club can never see another club's players, stats or notes.

Our platform team cannot browse your club's football data in normal operation. If we need to help with a support issue, access is through a logged, time-limited support session.

What can players see?

Players see their own profile and stats, their own feedback, the published team, the fixture and ladder, and club announcements. They don't see other players' feedback, coach notes, injury information or Best & Fairest votes.

What is coach-only?

Coach notes, injury information and recovery notes, and Best & Fairest voting are coach-only. Only the Head Coach sees the Best & Fairest leaderboard.

How private is the Best & Fairest count?

Each panel coach sees and enters their own votes. Only the Head Coach can see the leaderboard. Rounds can be locked once votes are in, and the results can be exported as PDF or CSV when you're ready for presentation night.

How to run a fair Best & Fairest

What about players under 18?

Some clubs have players under 18. Clubs should collect the minimum about them, get a parent or guardian's consent where needed (and always for injury information), and only invite a player under 18 to sign in with their parent or guardian's agreement. Player information is never public.

Do you use tracking or advertising cookies?

No. Quarterline uses one cookie to keep you signed in and one to remember light or dark mode. There are no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.

Security and hosting

Where is our data stored?

Club data and files are stored in Sydney, Australia, and the app's servers run in Sydney. Some supporting services are overseas: email is sent through a provider in the United States, and the optional AI drafting features use Anthropic in the United States. The privacy policy lists each provider and what it handles.

Read the privacy policy

How is our data protected?

Information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Every request is checked against your role, and the database itself stops anyone seeing another club's information. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, and sign-in is rate limited. Files are kept in private storage and only shown through short-lived links.

Can we remove someone's access straight away?

Yes. A Club Admin can remove a person's access at any time and it takes effect immediately on every device.

AI drafting

What does the AI do?

AI is optional and only helps coaches write. It can draft a player's feedback from their stats and recent focus areas, draft a match report from the stats, and answer a coach's questions about the stats. Every draft is checked and edited by a coach before anyone else sees it.

What is never sent to the AI?

Injury information, Best & Fairest votes, coaches' private notes, contact details and passwords are never sent. Information sent through our account isn't used to train the model.

What happens if something worrying comes up?

If a request suggests someone may be at risk, Quarterline doesn't run the AI task. It shows Australian support services instead, such as Lifeline 13 11 14 and Kids Helpline 1800 55 1800, and suggests checking in with the person and your club's welfare officer.

Phones and the app

Can players use it on their phones?

Yes. Quarterline is built for phones first. Players and coaches can add it to their home screen from the browser on iPhone or Android and it opens like an app. There's nothing to download from an app store.

Does it send notifications?

Quarterline shows notifications in the app, and announcements can also go out as a club branded email. People can choose whether club notifications also come by email.

Pricing and cancelling

How much does it cost?

A$100 per club per month. That includes up to 50 users across coaches, admins and players, and every feature. It's billed monthly for the season.

See pricing

What counts as a user?

Anyone with a sign-in at your club: coaches, Club Admins and players. Up to 50 are included.

We have more than one team, or we're a league. Is there a different price?

Talk to us about multi-team or league pricing when you send your request.

Get in touch

What happens when the season ends, or if we cancel?

You can cancel at any time. Access continues to the end of the month you've paid for, then the club becomes read-only for 14 days so you can export what you need. You can also ask us for a copy of your club's data.

See the Terms

Your data

Can we get our data out?

Yes. Reports and Best & Fairest results export as PDF or CSV, and when a club leaves it can ask us for a copy of its data.

What happens to our data when we leave?

We delete the club's information and files within 90 days of its licence ending, unless the law requires us to keep something.

Can a player delete their account?

Yes, from their account settings. Their sign-in, name, email and memberships are removed straight away. Their player statistics stay with the club as part of its records, no longer linked to them.
